Written as part biography, part guide, this book fits the non-fiction genre of literature. The objective of this lesson will be to discuss this important literary genre, and to analyze why this book fits so well into this particular genre.

Lesson

1) Introduction of Genre: Introduce to the class the concept of the non-fiction style of writing. Present the pros and cons of this style and list some of the reasons why an author would choose it to write in. Present some examples of this style from books that they have read, or will read later with the class. Answer any of the questions that the students might have concerning this narrative style.
