Presentation: Other Artists of the Harlem Renaissance

Do some research into other artists--visual, performing, or literary--of the Harlem Renaissance. Choose one to focus on, and create a presentation of 2-4 minutes in length about the artist and their work. Cite your sources in a format appropriate to a visual presentation.

One of the considerations that American writers from minority backgrounds struggle with is whether to write in the colloquial language of their community or in more formal, academic English. Do some research on this question and how it applies to Claude McKay. Why did he choose formal English? How did audiences inside and outside his community react to this choice? Write a brief report of your findings, citing your sources in MLA format.
