Interviews on a Theme
As a class, discuss a historical event that most students' parents would remember and develop a series of questions that one might ask these parents to get an impression of what this event was like at the time it happened. Have every student ask his or her parents these questions and record the answers. As a class, form a short oral history of this event.
Two Administrations
As a class, make a list of the top 9 people in Franklin Roosevelt's first administration: Vice President, Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury, Attorney General, Secretary of War (Defense), Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Agriculture, Secretary of Labor, Secretary of Commerce. Next to them, place the same list for the Obama Administration. Discuss what each person is doing then and now regarding the economic crises.
