Meeting Socrates

If you could have a lunch date with Socrates, what are 10 questions you would ask him. This may be done as a discussion or a written assignment. You may also have students anticipate how Socrates would answer their questions.

Film: The Clouds

Aristophanes, a Greek playwright, wrote a play mocking Socrates and the Socratic method. It's called The Clouds and they're should be several different editions of this story on film available at your local library.

The Socratic Movie

Have students either script their own dialogue, or translate one into modern English, and film it. It might be funny to actually include strangers in public to fill roles like the Slave Boy.
