Draw a Setting
Allow students the opportunity to draw a setting of a story of their choosing, using the text as a guide.
News Article
Ask students to look in their local newspaper for an article that involves some aspect of the stories, and bring it to class. They will present it in front of the class and explain why it relates to the stories.
Draw a Character
Have students draw their interpretation of a character from the stories. Artistic ability is not important, but their drawings must reflect the type of costume worn by the character, whether the character is fat or thin, bald, prim or slovenly. What colors do the characters wear?
Costume Day
Allow students the opportunity to plan and organize a costume day, in which students will wear clothing of time and place of the stories.
