Objective
Truman Capote: As introduction to the study of The Grass Harp, we will begin by examining the novel's author, Truman Capote. Today's class will establish the purpose of learning about the author, research the author's other works and history, and prepare group presentations on the information that relates to The Grass Harp.

1) Class Discussion: Introduce the novel to the class and discuss why information regarding an author can help readers to have a greater understanding of his works.
