Jigsaws.
In groups of three, draw a picture of one of the character in the book. One you have finished cut the picture into jigsaw pieces. Each group then has to put their pieces in the middle of the room. The teacher mixes up the jigsaw pieces and then assigns each group a character that they have to put together using the pieces in the middle of the room. The first group to complete their jigsaw wins.
Dating.
Assign one person in the class as Shen Te and ask the other students to make up a male character that they think Shen Te would consider for a serious relationship. Each student should take it turns to have a two-minute conversation with her. At the end, Shen Te should decide whom she wants to date.
