Class Discussion: Who is the author of “God Sees the Truth, But Waits? Where is he from? How old was Tolstoy when the short story was published? How was his work received by the public? What other works has the author written? How might the author’s background influence your reading of the book?
Small Group Activity: Divide students into small groups and ask students to compile a list of facts about the author, encouraging them to include information that impacts the stories themes and characters. Regroup and ask students to share their facts. Write a list on the board so it is visible to all students.
