Lesson 1 (from Introduction and Foxfire - What Is It?)
Objective
Foxfire Press published its first book in 1983, a book that focused on Aunt Arie Carpenter. The book about Aunt Arie won a Christopher award and was followed by a cookbook and a book of mountain toys and games. This lesson will discuss Foxfire Press and its importance in signaling a shift in the type of books the Foxfire organization produces. Instead of a multi-book series with a broad range of topics in each volume like the Foxfire series printed by Doubleday, Foxfire Press is printing books focusing on single topics.
