• Katherine knows Sybil has slept with a few boys, but Katherine and Erica are both virgins.
• Narrating in the past tense, Katherine recalled meeting Michael Wagner for the first time at the party.
• Michael was cute, and he seemed older, but Sybil told Katherine he was in her class, so also a senior in high school.
• Katherine and Michael exchanged a few words, but Katherine was a little combative towards him.
