• An unidentified narrator says that she was ten when she saw a newspaper front page image of a kid in her underwear, offering a glass of milk to a woman on a bed with blood staining the sheets between her legs, under a headline in “monster size” saying “Judge Rules…MOMMY IS SICK” (1).
• The narrator says that she thought the girl must be in real trouble, to get on the front page of the newspaper like that.
• On the TV news, Walter Cronkite said that the girl, Samantha, was the daughter of the photographer, Lillian Preston, and that eight images of Samantha, nude, had been taken down from a show in a gallery...
