The objective of this lesson is to take a closer look at discrimination.
Lesson
1) Initiate a class discussion on what discrimination looks like. In what forms is it most prevalent today? What about sixty years ago? Was it the same?
2) Break the class into groups of two or three and research the areas of the job industry in which discrimination is still prevalent. What kind of discrimination flourishes in this area? In what conditions does discrimination flourish in general?
3) While still in groups, examine incentives some countries offer to hire minorities in an attempt to promote a multicultural company. How is this also a form of discrimination?
