Devise a Philosophy
Devise your philosophy or ideas on how the world should be run. Present your ideas to the class and at the end everyone should vote on whose philosophy is the best.
Violent Crime
In Anarres, they send their violent criminals to therapy. Write a short treatise on how you would deal with violent crime. Be prepared to share your ideas.
Rationing
In the novel, there is a drought and the government has to ration supplies. In the lesson, divide the class and ration their supplies. For example, they have to share an eraser or they only have a certain amount of paper they can use.
Play
Divide the group into two. Both groups should write a short play before exchanging them. The idea is then for each group to edit and censor each other's plays. Are you happy with the results?
