Introduction
• Gladwell says that the Shephelah region is the heart of Palestine, and the most important valley in all its valleys is the Elah, where the Philistines encountered the Israelites in battle in the hills of the Judaean mountains where the Israelites lived under kind Saul.
• The Philistines were expanding from Crete into the Elah valley when they encountered the Israelites.
• When the Philistines camped opposite the Israelites, their hero, Goliath, a six-foot, nine-inch-tall giant, called out the best warrior of the Israelites for single combat, to determine which people would be slaves to the others.
• A shepherd named David answered his call, and descended the mountain to fight Goliath.
• Gladwell says that David and Goliath is a book about doing...
