Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze the subjects, style, and meaning of Karou's artwork. Karou has several sketchbooks that she constantly draws in. She is a talented artist, and the main subjects of her art are her chimaeran friends and family - Brimstone, Issa, Twiga, and Yasri. Her professor frequently admonishes Karou to draw things from real life, and the professor does not realize that Karou is drawing fantastical creatures, but they are from her real - fantastical - life. Karou's sketchbooks are a way for her to try to make sense of her extremely unusual family and friends.
