Design a new cover for the novel. Be sure to include important symbols and/or an important scene. Also remember to include the title and the author's name.
Walk in Someone Else's Shoes
Use wrist and ankle weights, like Lisa does in the novel, to simulate what Willie feels like in his "new" body. Feel what it must be like to compensate for that kind of disability. Let students take turns putting the weights on their left wrists and left ankles and try different movements. If possible, take them to the gymnasium or outside or any other open area. Ask them to jog, shoot baskets, or even try yoga poses. Afterward, ask them to share their observations.
