Connecting Ideas - Puzzle
Montaigne discusses a wide range of concepts in his works, and explain how they are interrelated in meaningful ways. For instance, bravery is a kind of virtue, and it can lead to merciful acts. Compile a number of these concepts and relationships, and construct a puzzle (such as a word-search or a cross-word puzzle) which, when completed, depicts a representation of these connections.
Coat of Arms - Art Project
Montaigne was from a minor noble family that had standing within the French aristocracy of his time. Heraldry was an important means of establishing station and demonstrating family history in medieval Europe. Research the art of heraldry as well as Montaigne's family history, and create an original "coat of arms" for Montaigne. Then, write a short explanation of your choices and how they relate to Montaigne's life and the background of his family.
