Plan a Film Treatment
Working in a small group, plan how you would make a film of "Clarissa." Include as many details as you can. What actors and actresses would you cast in the various roles? What parts of the story would you leave out, and why? What parts would you emphasize? Would you drop any characters or subplots? Can you think of a director whose style you would like to use to make the film?
Film a Scene
Choose one scene from "Clarissa" and make a video of it. You'll have to plan the action, find an appropriate place to film, pick actors and write dialogue. You'll probably want to rehearse a few times before filming. If your instructor wants, you can coordinate your scenes so that the class can put together a short film version of the novel.
