Objective

Lesson

1) Class discussion: How is the text laid out in "Chushingura"? How can you tell when someone is speaking? How can you tell who is speaking? How can you tell how the people move around? How are the settings described? Who is meant to perform this drama? How is this explained? What is an example of puppetry directions in the text? How do these directions help the puppeteer? How would the directions translate to the viewer of the drama?
