Lesson 1 (from Chapters 1-17)
Objective
The objective of this lesson is to examine how and why Mama Agba teaches the girls to fight, and why it is important to learn when to fight. Mama Agba teaches the way of the staff to any girl who wants to learn. She teaches them to be able to protect themselves from men who wish to do them harm. If there are diviners, they need to be able to protect themselves from the hatred and violence toward them.
