A Life in Poems

Have the students write some poems that show the progression of their lives from the beginning of the school year until now.

Historical Figure Reports

Split the class into groups and assign each group one of the main historical figures from this book. Have each group prepare a short report and presentation on that person.

Carver Inventions

Have the students compile a list of inventions that they use during a typical day that came about because of the research and work done by George Washington Carver.

President Names

Clearly, George Washington Carver and Booker T. Washington were both named for George Washington. Have the students write a short essay about which president they would want to be named for and why.

Peanut Party

Hold a peanut themed party where everyone brings to class a treat with some kind of peanut in it.
