Welcome to the Club
Students will create a visual representation of the Club based on Orwell's descriptions. Visuals can be drawings, 3-D models or staged photographs. Students will present these visuals to the class, explaining their choices.
Flory's Faces
Students will create two visual images of John Flory: one image representing his inner self, beliefs, and values, and one representing the image he presents to others. Students will be prepared to explain their choices to the class.
Speaking Burmese
Students will write an imagined dialogue between any Burmese character and any English character, allowing each character to speak his/her mind freely, as he/she is unable to do in the novel.
U Po Kyin's Planner
Students will write an imaginary itinerary for a day in the life of U Po Kyin, considering the character's past and his motivations.
