Scavenger Hunt

Students create a question scavenger hunt for the book. The class splits into groups of 3-4. Each group generates 5-10 questions about the book and lists the page numbers where the answers can be found. After the groups finish writing, they exchange their questions. Each group answers the questions they receive in the trade. Groups can trade with multiple groups if time permits.

Vocabulary Word Find

In pairs, students are assigned chunks of text to read and scan those pages for difficult vocabulary words. Students share words aloud with whole class, other students write down definitions if known, and at the end of class, students swap papers around the room filling in blank spaces from other students' papers.
