• The wind is so strong it rocks the trailer and can be heard booming outside.
• The ranch where Ennis has been living is on the market and he has to be moved out that morning.
• He thinks he may have to stay with his eldest daughter.
• The night before he dreamed of Jack Twist.
• The narrative shifts back to the past offering some background on Ennis...
