Haiti in the News

Look for stories and articles about Haiti in newspapers, magazines, and on TV. Collect the information and talk about it in the classroom. Does Haiti get good or bad publicity?

Haiti, the Country

Bring a lot of documentation about Haiti to the classroom. Divide the class into five groups and give each group a topic. Have each group prepare a presentation about parts of Haitian life. The topics are: culture, politics, food and drinks, geography and climate and its influences. These topics can get written on little pieces of paper and drawn out of a bag or box as to give the groups their topic by chance.
