Stephen E. Ambrose (1936 -2002) was an American historian, biographer of U.S. Presidents Eisenhower and Nixon, and a long time professor of history at the University of New Orleans. Band of Brothers: E Company, 506th Regiment, 101st Airborne from Normandy to Hitler's Eagle's Nest covers the journey made by the citizen soldiers of Easy Company, a unit of the 506th Regiment, 101st Airborne Division during World War II. In this lesson, students are introduced to the book and will research its author, Stephen E. Ambrose.
