Objective

This lesson introduces students to the nonfiction book Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist John Carreyrou. Carreyrou’s intensely-compelling narrative follows the story of Elizabeth Holmes and her multi-billion-dollar health technology corporation, Theranos. In the lesson, students will research the Theranos story in the Wall Street Journal and discuss its current status in the news as well as the author and his previous works.
