Objective
The objective of this lesson is to discuss the donations given to produce the play, and what is revealed about community. Roy Baker, headmaster at the school, thanks everyone who gave something for the play production. Donations including lumber for the sets, intermission treats, costumes, and the time of the director.

Class Discussion: Why were donations an important part of being able to produce the play? Who provided the timber at cost? What was the timber used for? Who donated labor for painting the sets? Who provided cordials and cakes? Who donated time to create the costumes? What did Miss Latrobe give to the production? Did the students donate their time? Were most of the donations things or time? What is revealed about community through the donations that helped the play to be a success?
