Objective: In "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso" and "Mea Culpa of the Culpable," Allende introduces all of the major themes this work will address: love, sex, sensory perception, passion, creativity, food, and the many varied relationships between all these themes. She also introduces the individuals who contributed to this book. This lesson will discuss these themes and individuals.
1) Class Discussion: The author, Isable Allende, addresses the major themes of the book. What are those themes?
Small Group Activity: Discuss the themes and what you know about them, based on what Allende has written in the first chapter.
