She also introduces the individuals who contributed to this book. This lesson will discuss these themes and individuals.

1) Class Discussion: The author, Isable Allende, addresses the major themes of the book. What are those themes?

Small Group Activity: Discuss the themes and what you know about them, based on what Allende has written in the first chapter.

Class Discussion: Share the ideas about the various themes. What relationships might exist between these various themes?

Homework: Allende introduces her collaborators in "Mea Culpa." Who are her collaborators? What is their significance regarding this book?
