Kate's clerk is Brian Taylor. She has been her clerk for the entire 19 years that she has been in One Swift Court. He has been in the profession for 40 years and has better insight into human psychology than many of the counsel for whom he works. He has a sharp understanding of human nature and a deep sense of morality. He is very private. It took Kate four years to realize that his wife had left him and four more years to realize his wife left him for another woman.
