At-mun is raised in a very unique environment in his tribal African village where he is revered as royalty. The objective of this lesson will be to discuss how this upbringing has affected his life and shaped his character.

Lesson

1) Read aloud with the class the part that explains the fact that At-mun is the son of a king in his tribal African village. Find some information about what this position would have entailed. This may require a little bit of research. After presenting this information, have the students write an essay about how they think being raised by a man in this unique environment would affect a childhood. Call on some students to read their work. Discuss some of the similarities and differences in the responses read.
