Prologue

This book is autobiographical. The objective of this lesson will be to review some major aspects of Tommy Franks's life, and to discuss why he decided to write and publish this book in the manner he did.

Lesson

1) Provide a brief overview of Tommy Franks's life along with some of the major events in it. Split the class into groups and assign each group one of the major events from his life. Instruct each group to study their event and write about how this event would have shaped him and affected his writing style. Allow each group to present the information. Discuss some of the different ideas that are presented.
