This book contains several photos and maps. There are photos of General Douglas MacArthur himself, his parents, his wives, and maps of the places in which he fought. This lesson will discuss the photos and maps and the importance of these graphics in enhancing the understanding of the time period in which General MacArthur lived.
Lesson
1. Group Project: Divide the class into small groups. Have each group review the photos and maps in the text and compile a list of what they think the photos and maps reveal about General Douglas MacArthur and his historical era. Ask the groups to share their lists with the rest of the class.
