Sammy and Joe are cousins. They are pushed upon each other in the beginning of the story, but when they realize that they would work together well as a team, they decide to collaborate.

4. What has Joe escaped from in his life?

Joe has escaped from several things in his life. The most recent thing he has escaped from is the Nazis. He escaped imprisonment and death. He also escaped during a magic trick on the Moldau River, though he almost drowned with his brother.
