Sometimes Mary wanted to shout at her mother and tell her that God was busy and he was not going to help her find her keys. Mary thought her mother was lazy like that, expecting everyone else to do everything for her.

Mary describes the groups home as always being muggy like they live in an old shoe. It is not a home. No place where you fear for your life can be considered a home. From the outside, it looks like a two-story brick-faced house. There are four bedrooms, a living room/dining room, kitchen, office, and a half-finished basement.
