• This book is written in the past tense and from the third-person perspective. It moves back and forth through time, with both the years and the characters the chapters are focused on listed at the beginning of the chapters.

• Chapter One takes place in 1994 and focuses on Krissy Jacobs.

• In Chapter One, Krissy had always understood how powerful the rumor mill in her hometown of Wakarusa, Indiana, was.

• Krissy woke up one morning in 1994 and came downstairs to see something terribly wrong - red graffiti on her kitchen wall that read "Fuck your family, That bitch is gone, This is What you get."

• Krissy was ashamed that one of the first things she thought was, "What will the neighbors say?"
