2) Class Discussion: What kind of place was Macedonia prior to King Philip's ascension? What kind of political power did it wield? How was it considered by surrounding states? What was the state of its military?

3) Textual Analysis: Read the passage in which Green describes the political system of Macedonia prior to King Philip. How was it structured? What kind of power did the king have? How was that power limited by the assembly? What kind of code of law was in place?
