• The event was a forgotten violent assertion of manhood, and it is a forgotten event in history which inspired Hitler, Mussolini, and others directly and indirectly.

• Mishra sees this violence as a new type of politics that moved from nationalism to terrorism, and was the result of the first crises of global capitalism.

• Mishra explains the appeal of D’Annunzio to successors, and he indicates that in the world today radicals from all over the world come “to join violent, misogynist and sexually transgressive movements” (4).
