Depression Era Scrapbook.
Individually or in groups, students create a scrapbook montage of images and words from pictures and writings of the Depression Era. The scrapbook can be digital or on paper, and students are encouraged to use creativity in media format.
Laughter is the Best Medicine.
Individually or in groups, students perform improv, stand-up, or scripted skit comedy (original or adapted) in order to illustrate the healing and unifying power of laughter as discussed by Kurt Vonnegut in the novel.
It's Great to be Human.
Each student creates a collage, scrapbook, or other mixed media presentation that demonstrates why it is great to be alive and human, in contrast with the pessimistic view of Kurt Vonnegut as expressed in the book.
A Rant.
Each student writes a one page 'rant' on any subject they feel strongly about, in a funny style similar to that of Kurt Vonnegut...
