Objective
Understanding the author David Pelzer and his past are necessary in order to fully appreciate the last book in his trilogy regarding growing up as a victim of child abuse. Therefore, students should have a basic understanding of the story behind his previous two novels, "A Child Called It" and "The Lost Boy." The objective of this lesson is to gain knowledge regarding the information presented in David Pelzer's two previous novels.
Lesson
1. As a class, research David Pelzer's first book "A Child Called It." Copies of the book's first chapter should be made. Read the first chapter of the book to the class. Then, open the floor to questions about the book. Write all of the questions on the board. Students should copy the questions down and then try to find the answers by giving search phrases for the teacher to look up through smart-classroom...
