Lesson

Lead the class in a discussion about what rural Vermont life would have been like for the Pecks. What can the students offer about any previous study they have done about this time period and geography? What are the perceptions of Vermont life that may have been altered after having read this book? What did they expect? What surprised them? What do they think about Vermont after they have viewed it through the Pecks' eyes?
