Prologue; Chapter 1-5

• Elaida, the Amyrlin, receives a short note from Galina saying she has Rand under her control.

• Queen Morgase is being kept by Niall as a virtual prisoner and she leaves the room when Omerna enters the room.

• Omerna stabs Niall in the back with a knife saying Morgase should be killed as she is a witch.

• As Valda begins to finish Niall off another guard comes in and the two of them talk. Niall writes out a note while they are talking.

• Valda sees the note but it is too blood stained to read. Valda intends to use Morgase so he will not yet have her killed.
• Perrin sits with some of his men after a vicious battle, which has killed a great number of people.

• They have taken a number of Aes Sedai prisoner and the men want to kill them but Perrin will...
