A Beautiful Mind is an unauthorized biography of economist and mathematician John Forbes Nash, Jr. by Sylvia Nasar. John Forbes Nash, Jr. became well known as a mathematician in 1948. He was considered to be a genius by many and did a lot of work in the areas of game theory and economic rivalry. This biography relates Nash's career, his family, and his struggle with schizophrenia. In this lesson, students are introduced to the book, and will research and discuss author Sylvia Nasar.
