After the World Trade towers collapsed, firefighters, police officers, and other rescue workers began arriving in a steady stream, ready to do whatever was necessary to look for survivors and the dead. Search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers also heard the call and came from all over the United States to lend their services.
Paul Morgan and his golden retriever, Cody, arrived at Ground Zero the day after the attacks and immediately began their search for survivors and bodies. Unfortunately, they did not find any survivors, but Cody found three sets of remains in the first thirty minutes they were on the site. The work was difficult and exhausting but Morgan was grateful he and his dog were able to be of service.
