For the first time in U.S. history, a sitting president is held in contempt of civil court. U.S. District Court Judge Susan Webber Wright holds Clinton in contempt for "giving false, misleading and evasive answers that were designed to obstruct the judicial process" when he was asked about his relationship with Lewinsky. Clinton is required to pay the Court $1,200.
