President John F. Kennedy announces his choice for attorney general, his brother Robert Kennedy. This decision initially arouses a great deal of criticism because of nepotism concerns and because of Robert Kennedy's youth and inexperience. However, the controversy soon dies down, and Robert is easily confirmed by the Senate the next January.
