Timothy McVeigh, interviewed by Patrick E. Cole

Timothy McVeigh was quickly identified as the main suspect in the Oklahoma City bombing. Two days after the bombing, federal authorities discovered McVeigh was already in custody in a small town about eighty miles from Oklahoma City. He had been arrested shortly after the bombing and held in jail on traffic and weapons charges. Federal agents brought McVeigh back to Oklahoma City where he was charged with the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building and the murder of 168 people. He was held in a federal prison in Oklahoma for the next year until he was moved to Colorado for trial because of extensive publicity in Oklahoma City.

A day before his move to Colorado, McVeigh gave an interview to Patrick E. Cole, a reporter for Time magazine.
