On Easter Sunday, April 16, a couple staying at the Dreamland Motel noticed McVeigh's Mercury Marquis parked in the motel parking lot. They saw it had Arizona license plates on it, and they could not believe the junker car had successfully made the trip from Arizona to Kansas. The motel manager and her son were certain that they saw McVeigh with a Ryder truck at the motel that day, which is hard to explain since McVeigh did not pick up the truck he rented under the name Kling until Monday.
