Avicenna goes to the court of'Ala' ad-Dawah in Esfahan (about 250 miles south of Tehran), where he spends the last twenty-two years of his life writing such important works as the first Persian-language work on Aristotelean philosophy, a personal work on the mystic's spiritual journey to God, and a major, unfinished philological work on the Arabic language.
