Ghaznavid ruler Bahrain Shah poisons a local Ghurid leader, Qutb-ud-Din, sparking a feud that results in the sacking of Ghazna by Ghurid chief'Ala'-ud-Din Husayn, founder of the Ghurid dynasty. Although they end Ghaznavid rule in the region, the Muslim Ghurids cannot hold Ghazna, which ends up in the hands of the Oguz Turkmen nomads.
